J.J. Arcega-Whiteside has been injured in recent weeks. A little sprain. But that has not stopped him from returning to the level he had previously. Again 3 touchdowns and more than 100 yards against UCLA. And this team has always been good, let’s remember that their first touchdown was against them.
There is only one game left to end the season, the postponed against California, this Saturday the 1st at 9:00 p.m. Spanish time. He already has 14 touchdowns this season, almost 900 yards and 55 receptions. But more importantly, with Stanford he has 28 touchdowns, and he has two games left to beat Ken Margerum’s record of 32 from the years 1977-80. He has also equaled his team’s record of 14 touchdowns in one season. Therefore, it is an extra motivation.
This season J.J. Arcega-Whiteside can make history, it has already begun to write, but nothing has been done yet. You have to keep rowing. And even if he succeeds, he will continue training, and fighting like the first day. Success is not in breaking records, but in remaining the same and continuing to train with the same enthusiasm and energy as at the beginning when no one knew him. That, and no other is the key.
J.J. Arcega-Whiteside has become a semifinalist for the biletnikoff trophy. He has not been able to go all the way, yet he is a candidate for all-america recognition. An annual recognition given to the best College Football players who are the best in their position. An honor and a pride. These recognitions are the fruit of effort and determination. But that doesn’t have to cause your guard to be lowered, you don’t have to stop here. They have to be a new impulse to keep working every day and never settle and be a little better every time.
SUPPORT TO J.J.
As always, before saying goodbye we leave you the last program of TouchDown or Nada. With Alberto Zaragoza, Néstor Pérez, and Pablo Fernández. The Football College portion starts at 2:38 and lasts almost an hour.
Remember that the TouchDown or Nada team were the first to speak of JJ in Spain. The first who believed in him more than 2 years ago, and have always been supporting J.J. throughout his university career, so we want to thank you from here for the support and coverage you always have with J.J. Here we remind you of the first interview they did with him.
